A recent Pirates of the Caribbean mod leans more toward the latter category, and it sees Jack Sparrow doing battle with Davy Jones. This format should be very familiar to those that have kept up with the God of War mod scene, as players have already made characters clash using the Stranger boss battle. Master Chief battled Kratos in one viral clip, while another video focused on the Doom Slayer fighting Master Chief. Now, some non-video game characters are getting into fights withing the game’s Norse world.

The mod in question was shown off by Redditor lolmetwice and sees Jack Sparrow standing in for Baldur while Davy Jones fill Kratos’ shoes. The best thing about this decision is that Baldur has a lot of Jack Sparrow mannerisms when it comes to his movement, stumbling and swaying around like the beloved pirate. While this would have been a good enough touch on its own, the person behind the mod made sure to add dialogue from the actual Jack Sparrow, playing the lines in place of Baldur’s.
Johnny Depp can be heard introducing himself as Captain Jack Sparrow, with the Redditor then skipping to the part where Baldur launches Kratos into the sky. As Davy Jones hits the ground, Pirates of the Caribbean music plays, serving as a funny touch that shows just how much effort was put into this edited fight. The clip ends with Jack Sparrow leaping high into the sky and landing by Davy Jones, uttering one of Baldur’s lines and reminding fans that this is just a mod and not a fully voiced Jack Sparrow.
Obviously, this is not how Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones fought in the real Pirates of the Caribbean, as neither character had superpowers that allowed them to punch each other through the sky or leap great distances. Despite this, many God of War fans on Reddit got a kick out of this clip, with the post bringing in over 1,200 upvotes. In the comments section, some Pirates of the Caribbean quotes were edited to better suit the God of War universe. Redditor RAGE-OF-SPARTA-X praised Bill Nighy for their portrayal of Davy Jones in the Pirates films, sharing their dream casting for him to play Mimir in the God of War show.
