Resident Evil Village is a survival horror game in one of the most popular horror game franchises that have produced a myriad of games since the original game was released in 1996. The franchise has also been featured in films, television shows, novels, and comics. In Resident Evil Village, players assume the role of Ethan Winters seven years after the events of Resident Evil 7. The game is available for consoles and PC, but there also might be a VR version of Resident Evil Village in the works.
The award-winning horror game has been well-received by the public and returns to core Resident Evil gameplay with exploration and survival. Players continue the story of Ethan Winters, the main protagonist from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Ethan Winters wakes up after a traumatic sequence of kidnapping and murdering and finds himself surrounded by werewolf creatures called Lycans. The adventure takes the player to the Resident Evil Village’s fierce vampire lady, Alcina Dimitrescu, and to face a former protagonist Chris Redfield as a foe.
Resident Evil Village is a first-person single-player adventure game, like the predecessor, but inventory management is similar to the third-person Resident Evil 4. The game comes with an arcade-like Mercenaries Mode, familiar from previous titles, in which players can step in the shoes of some of the antagonists. Currently, for a limited time, the PlayStation 5 of Resident Evil Village is priced at $34.45, a discount of over $25. Also, PS4 and Xbox One and Series X/S versions are similarly discounted.
